Quince offers room for all with 4-bedroom design

While some floor plans have a piece of what large families look for in a home, others seem to check every box. In these cases, the size, orientation and features all contribute to a positive experience for both parents and children. This is seen in the Quince by Baywest Homes. Measuring 2,703 square feet, this upscale front-drive model is presented as a show home in the lake community of Mahogany.

The home has four bedrooms with a central bonus room that creates a winged effect, delivering privacy between the parents’ and children’s sleep spaces. The children’s bedrooms are within a few inches of being the same size, limiting the chance of arguments when deciding who gets which space. Two of these bedrooms are beside and the other sits across from a full bathroom. Its vanity has two sinks, supporting the ability for more than one child to brush their teeth and fix their hair at the same time. A laundry room is across from the bonus room, putting it equal distance to the parents’ and children’s bedrooms. This creates a short walk for all family members when carrying a basket of clean or dirty clothes. The laundry room has a front-load washer and dryer, sink and cabinets, handy for storing detergent, bleach and fabric softener.

In this bonus room, there’s a spot for everyone. At 14 feet nine inches and 10 feet 10 inches, it is generously sized. Elevating the visual interest of the space is an elegant tray-style ceiling. When entering the master bedroom, the first thing seen is access to a large, upscale ensuite. A striking free-standing tub sits beneath a window and is flanked, respectively, by walls featuring a glass-encased shower and vanity with two sinks. The ensuite links to a walk-in closet, offering the convenience of one fluid space in which to start one’s day.

Work spaces are another valuable consideration for the parents and children of the family alike. A few steps down from the second level is a tech area with room for at least three children to sit. One can imagine them using it to work on homework or a craft. On the main level, a 10-foot three-inch by nine-foot office closed off by a barn door offers anyone who needs to work from home a spot to tuck away.

The star of the main floor is a grand L-shaped cooking space. Its island has a sink, generous surface space, and room for at least three people to sit at the extended eating bar. This is ideal for young children to relax and chat with their parents as they put the finishing touches on dinner. There’s thoughtful distribution of its stainless steel appliances, allowing one to be at the wall oven and another at the fridge, without bumping elbows. Combining a high volume of cabinets and drawers with a well-proportioned walk-in pantry, the kitchen boasts a high supply of storage. This reduces the chances of clutter. The kitchen connects to the great room and dining area, which line up side-by-side along the rear-facing wall, through an open-concept design. Both rooms get plenty of natural light. The foyer combines space with privacy. Its square footage allows several people to enter the home at the same time without being cramped. At the same time, its design restricts views beyond the immediate space.
